Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, made it clear that he has no intention of joining forces with the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 presidential candidate, Mahamudu Bawumia, as his running mate.

Agyapong emphasized that he would not accept the role of vice president and instead, he must be among the leaders.

Agyapong spoke about the impact he has made on people’s lives through his businesses, which have provided employment opportunities and supported many Ghanaians. With this self-gratification in mind, he stated that one does not need to be president to create positive change.

During the NPP’s presidential primary, Bawumia secured a significant amount of votes, winning against his main rival, Agyapong. Despite this, Bawumia has not yet announced his running mate as the selection process was extended in December.

In an interview on the KSM Show on Pan African Television monitored by Apexnewsgh, Agyapong reiterated his stance, stating that he believes in democracy and wants to allow Bawumia the autonomy to make his own decisions.
