Kenpong Travel and Tours unveils World Cup packages for fans

The accommodation included securing visas, airline and match tickets, travel advice and counsel, hotels and arrangement of internal transportation in a unique package for the tournament.

The official Travel and Tour agency for the 2022 Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) World Cup, Kenpong Travel and Tours Limited has laid out some packages for fans who will be willing to join the Black Stars of Ghana in Qatar.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) early last month, appointed Kenpong travel and tours to cater for the accommodation for fans who would wish to join the team and offer support in the forthcoming world cup tournament in Qatar.

The accommodation included securing visas, airline and match tickets, travel advice and counsel, hotels and arrangement of internal transportation in a unique package for the tournament.

Speaking at the launch, veteran Sports Journalist and Spokesperson for Kenpong Travel and Tours, Mr. Carl Tuffour said the company had eight packages laid out which were categorised into four sections.

According to him, the four sections which were Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze all came with different price tags and benefits.

The package list included flight tickets, accommodation, feeding, match tickets, Covid-19 tests, travel insurance, medicals, internal transport and police reports.

Mr. Tuffour further explained that the Platinum Category was divided into two sections, namely Category A, with price tag of $10,610 and contained a flight ticket (Business Class), accommodation (single occupancy in 4 or 5 star hotel room or villa), feeding, three category 1 ticket for Ghana matches, Covid-19, travel insurance, medicals, internal transport and police report.

Category B, he added, included everything in Category A except feeding and was set at $9,210.

Category A of the Gold package also included a flight ticket (economy class), accommodation (single occupancy in 4 or 5 star hotel room or villa), feeding, three category two tickets for Ghana matches, covid-19, travel insurance, medicals, internal transport and police report also with a price tag of $8,020, while Category B also contained everything in Category A, except feeding, and is pegged at $6,620.

Mr. Tuffour added that for the Silver package, Category A had a flight ticket (economy class), accommodation (double occupancy), feeding, three category two tickets for Ghana matches), covid-19, travel insurance, medicals, internal transport and a police report, all at a cost of $6,900, and Category B was also without feeding and comes at a cost of $5,500.

Mr. Tuffour said, fans who wished to cough out $6,110 for Category A of the Bronze package comes with a flight ticket (economy class), accommodation (three to four persons to a room), feeding, three category two tickets for Ghana matches, covid-19, travel insurance, medicals, internal transport and a police report while Category B which excluded feeding goes for $4,710.

Mr. Hafiz Adam, the Chief Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in his speech commended Kenpong Travel and Tours for the work done so far and urged them to continue supporting the ministry to deliver better services for fans.

Kenpong Travel and Tours Limited in collaboration with Qatar Airlines and the Consolidated Bank Ghana are still putting things in place to make Black Stars’ World Cup journey a success.
