On August 3rd, the one-week observation for the late Letricia Amoa-Abban, mother of renowned oil and gas entrepreneur Kofi Amoa-Abban, saw a massive turnout of dignitaries, chiefs, and well-wishers who came to pay their respects and offer their condolences.
The event, marked by a blend of solemnity and appreciation for Leticia’s life, was held at her family residence in Accra.
The gathering featured prominent personalities from various sectors.
Business magnate Ibrahim Mahama, the brother of former President John Dramani Mahama, made a significant contribution by supporting the funeral arrangements.
Gabby Otchere-Darko, a notable political figure, was also in attendance.
The presence of political leaders, including Haruna Iddrisu, the former Minority Leader in Parliament, and other political stalwarts, underscored the high regard and respect Leticia Amoa-Abban held.
Their presence was a testament to the esteem and honour she commanded, highlighting the depth of her influence and the impact of her loss.
The observation symbolised unity, bringing political and business figures together to celebrate communal solidarity.
The significant presence of Asante Kotoko supporters, performing traditional chants and songs, and the notable attendance from the Oja community showcased a rich display of cultural heritage and shared respect for the deceased, instilling a deep sense of cultural pride and unity.
Traditional authorities, including several chiefs from various regions, expressed their condolences, reflecting Letricia Amoa-Abban’s influence and respect across different societal layers. Among the notable attendees were John Dumelo and social commentator Countryman Songo.
The observation also saw the attendance of Kwame Despite and the East Legon Executive Fitness Club, whose presence and support were deeply appreciated.
Their visit at this time of need provided significant comfort to the family.
In his heartfelt remarks, Kofi Amoa-Abban expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support from friends, family, and the broader community.
His words were filled with warmth and appreciation for the generosity and love shown during this challenging time:
“The immense support we have received is a testament to my mother’s enduring legacy. We are deeply moved and grateful for everyone’s presence and contributions.”
He added, “To all those who made donations yesterday, I am very, very, very grateful and appreciative of all your efforts. May God bless you abundantly and multiply whatever you have given. I thank you in advance to those who have yet to donate.”
The family is both saddened and comforted by the thought of the funeral, which is set to take place from the 25th to October 26th 2024. Preparations are underway to ensure a dignified farewell for Letricia Amoa-Abban.
The family has extended invitations to all who wish to commemorate the life of a remarkable woman whose impact was felt by many.
