Kotoko’s Joseph Ablorh Loses Wife

The Porcupines did not offer enough information about the death but sent out their condolences to the player and his family.

The wife of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club’s new centre-back, Joseph Ablorh has passed on, the club announced on Wednesday in a social media post.

The Porcupines did not offer enough information about the death but sent out their condolences to the player and his family.

“It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of the passing of the wife of our new player, Joseph Ablorh. Our hearts go out to Joseph and his family during this incredibly difficult time. We ask you to join us in offering your thoughts, prayers, and support to Joseph and his loved ones.”

It comes a week after the former Hafia FC midfielder penned a two-year contract with the club after his successful spell with the Guinea-based club ahead of the 2024/2025 season.

The Porcupines say his unique qualities as a robust and experienced midfielder are of great interest to them going into the new season.

“Joseph Ablorh was a standout player for Hafia FC, recognized for his strong tackling, aerial prowess, and leadership qualities.

“His stellar performances in the 2020/2021 Guinean top-flight season earned him a spot in the Team of the Season, underscoring his reliability and impact on the field.”

Head Coach Prosper Nerteh Ogum is without a doubt that he will be of much benefit to his defence squad.

“We are thrilled to welcome Joseph to Asante Kotoko. At 26, he brings a blend of experience and athleticism that will strengthen our defensive line. His skills and leadership will be pivotal as we strive to elevate our team and achieve our goals.”

But for Ablorh it’s the dream of every player to wear the enviable red jersey.

“It’s a great privilege to join Asante Kotoko, a club with such a rich history and passionate supporters. As a Ghanaian, returning home to play for this prestigious club is a dream come true for me. I am eager to wear the red jersey, give my all on the field, and contribute to our collective success.”
