The people of Aboaso – a community in the Kwabre East Constituency of the Ashanti Region could not hide their joy when the Member of Parliament for the area, Francisca Oteng Mensah cut a sod for the construction of an ultramodern 40-bed capacity ward for the Aboaso Clinic.
According to the MP who was accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive, and the Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) “All the necessary requirements for the construct of the 40 bed capacity ward which is expected to serve as the male and female maternity wards are secured including its finances”.
She announced that the project which is expected to be commissioned in six months is to fulfill a promise she made to the clinic sometime ago when she noticed the troubles patients go through when they get admitted at the Aboaso clinic. She said there were no wards to house this admitted patients thus when the project is completed it will serve the health personnel to deliver quality health care to the people within the Aboaso community.
“The project which will cost us about Ghc 350,000.00 will be funded by the NHIS fund and the Common fund of the Member of Parliament,” she stated.
The MP later proceeded to commission a Well and a potable mechanized bore hole in that same Aboaso community.
The MP who is seeking re-election to represent the people of the area in Parliament stated that her office is currently working with some ten communities that are benefiting from boreholes across the Constituency and are at various levels of completion.
She assured the Constituent of equity in distributing the national cake as far as her office is concerned. She also entreatdc them to have faith in the Akufo-Addo led government which is eager to develop the country.
Expressing their appreciation, the chief linguist of Aboaso Traditional Council, Nana Yaw Boakye Yiadom, assured that the project will be completed at the estimated time to help in the health care delivery to the people of Aboaso community and it’s surrounding.
