About Sixty-three residents of Gador-korpe a sub-village of Ekye-Amanfrom in the Kwahu Afram Plains South District in the Eastern Region has been displaced following a recent heavy downpour accompanied by strong winds.
Ghananewsonline.com.gh has gathered that the unfortunate incident occured last Sunday between the hours of five and seven in evening with heavy downpour and strong winds reaping off the roofing of residents of the area.
The Assembly Member for the Trebu electoral area, Ishmael Wordi, in an interview said the disaster has affected about fifteen houses housing about sixty-three people including children as they no longer have place to lay their heads.
The only school structure serving the whole electoral area has also been affected.
Another Assembly member, popularly known as Kanutey, has also appealed to the government through the National Disaster Management Organization (NAFMO), Non governmental organizations, philanthropists and the general public to come to their aid so they could have a place to lay theit heads.
Help could come in the form of iron rod, roofing sheets, cement, among others.
