Confused Roberta Ama Anokye-Edwards Strikes Over Documents Which Cover Different Land But Spedee Empire Ready To Fight Full Haul
While the saga of cut-throat land guards may be pipping down, in its place is emerging another breed of land goons with political and chieftaincy connections, struggling to abuse the laws to their advantage.

When they fail in accessing the courts reasonably and objectively to have their way, The Inquirer’s investigations reveal, they would try using landguards and other top political connects to get by.
Such is allegedly the trait of Roberta Ama Anokye-Edwards, 52, who carries herself as a U.S-based Ghanaian lawyer yet allegedly commandeers landguards to terrorise residents and workers of Spedee Empire Company Limited, who were developing a parcel of land at Otano, in the Adentan Municipality in Accra.
In contention is the piece of land situate lying and being at Otano-Accra in the Adenta Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region, containing an approximate area of 0.62 acre or 0.25 hectare more or less bounded on the South East by Lessors land measuring 214.7 feet more or less on the South West by Lessors land measuring 122.6 feet more or less on the North East by proposed road measuring 129.2 feet more or less on the North West by proposed road measuring 213.0 feet more or less which piece is more particularly delineated on Plaintiff’s site Plan.
The worrying contradiction is that out there on the field, Spedee Empire Company Limited she is seeking to harass; using political heavyweights has a land title, very significantly different from the land title to which Ama Anokye Edwards lays claim.
“The Plaintiff avers that the Land Registration Division of Plaintiffs land and indicated on the Land Certificate of Plaintiff that Plaintiff’s land is noted as Parcel Number 8376 within Section 75, Block 6 of District 019 of the Land Registry Map,” Court document from Spedee revealed.
For instance, a witness statement from one of the detectives investigating a case of trespass against Ama Anokye Edwards (name withheld) disclosed that on 12 October, 2022, a case of trespass and engaging in land guard activities was referred to him for investigations.
The complainant (Spedee) informed Police that on 11 October, 2022, it produced an order of injunction issued by the Tema High Court dated 10 October, 2022 in its favour told police that he caused the order of injunction to be posted on the fence walls of its land.
Read excerpts of the investigators witness statement: “5. The complainant told Police that he had also produced a Land Title Certificate which was issued by the Lands commission in the name of Spedee Empire Company Limited dated 14lh day of December, 2015 covering the said land.
- On l12th day of October, 2022, the complainant took the Police to the said land and pointed out to the Police Four Accused persons who were engaging in land guard activities and continually preventing complainant from developing his land.
- On the land the Accused persons told Police that they were sent to the land to work as masons and labourers but they could not produce any working tools to the police to show that they were masons and labourers.
- That the Accused persons were seen also possession two BAOFENG black Gotta sets which they use for their communications which I would like to tender in evidence with the search report from the lands commission.
The four Accused persons were made to read a copy of the injunction order issued by the Tema High Court boldly posted on the fence wall of the land after which they were arrested to the Police station.
- During investigations, it was revealed that a complaint was made to the police on 27 day of July, 2022 where the two Claimants to the land produced their respective documents.
- Investigations further revealed that the land belonged to the complainant’s company who acquired the said land from Akwraboye Doku Family, the Allodial owners of the land.
- That complainant took the matter to the Tema High Court as such Police closed
the case docket as undetected on the 28h day of August 2022, since the case had been taken to the Court.
- On I1h day of October, 2022, complainant produced an order of injunction from Tema High Court to the police.
- On 12th day of October, 2022 complainant made a report of trespass and engaging in land guard activities and further led police to the land where the Accused persons were arrested.
- On l2h day October, 2022, investigation caution statements were collected from the Accused persons which I would like to tender in evidence.
l6. After investigations, the Accused persons were charged and arraigned before this honourable Court. I would like to tender in evidence the charge caution statements.”
Yet while the case is in court, waiting a determination by the court, Roberta Ama Anokye-Edwards is allegedly connecting political and security sources to claim the land for her thereby allegedly resulting to publications and smear tactics against Spedee interest holders. The results, The Inquirer learnt, has been a blank no, which is becoming a source of embarrassment to her on account of the bad case in displacing her vile.
Unfortunately for Ama however, Spedee Empire Company Limited is not one of those who are compelled to give it to God and find monies to access lands elsewhere, it is prepared to go the full haul of the court process.
