LANEF Inaugurates Girls Club to mark International Women’s Day

The Ladies Network for Economic Freedom (LANEF)- an organization advocating and advancing activities that promote economic freedom, individual liberty, and Entrepreneurship, has launched the Madina Estate Schools Girls Club in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service as part of the Liberty at Grassroot- No Girl Left Behind project.

The Liberty at Grassroot project is aimed at empowering young girls discover the essence of liberty and leadership, igniting their minds and fostering empowerment at all levels.

Addressing the Students, the Executive Director of LANEF, Mrs. Angela Okai-Nartey noted that Liberty is choosing what makes you happy without harming others. She noted that the Right to live, Property Right and Enforcement of contracts are essential foundations of liberty.

Mrs. Okai-Nartey asserted that the manifestation of liberty is revealed in the choices we make, emphasizing that Liberty comes with responsibility.
She further revealed that Liberty comes with rewards or consequences and that the pillars of liberty dealing mainly with the enforcement of Laws to prevent chaos is key to business growth and entrepreneurship.

The Executive Director also said the program for the Basic school girls on Liberty, was to help them develop mindset that makes them successful in any field the find themselves as they grow into women.

Speaking on Igniting Entrepreneurship, the Chief Executive Officer of Chayil Insititue, Pastor Charles Fiifi Hagan, noted that entrepreneurship is simply finding a problem and solving it to make money. He used basic examples and principles to underscore why the leaners must explore their talents in a bid to become good entrepreneurs.

Pastor Hagan urged the girls to believe in themselves and continue to push to attain the best version of themselves in all their endeavors.

Renowned Economist, Prof. Enoch Opoku Antwi on his part explained that the current crop of leader in Africa have failed the continent and it was imperative to start training young minds on servant leadership.

Speaking on the topic, Servant Leadership, Prof. Opoku Antwi admonished the young leaners to believe in their abilities irrespective of their background and explore what they do best to become the best at doing it.

The Girl Education Coordinator of La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Education Directorate, Madam Adwoa Akyenba Ampah expressed confidence in the efforts of LANEF promoting Economic Liberty among young women and girls and reiterated the fact that, the formation of the girls Club in the Madina Estate schools will ensure constant empowerment engagements to improve the girls in all spheres of live.
