A former National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joshua Hamidu Akamba, has urged the party’s rank and file to join hands with John Mahama to energize the party machinery at the grassroots level to enable for proper reorganization so they can capture political power in the December 7 elections.
According to Akamba, also known as the grassroots captain, the party executives must target and revitalize the branches to be battle-ready for the 2024 polls.
He said the victory of the will NDC hinge on the activeness of the branches, and that the reorganization agenda of the party must strategically focus on strengthening the grassroots since it is now clear to everybody that elections are won at the polling stations within the branches.
He said it was imperative for the NDC to mend the cracks, bury differences, Eschew arrogance to help strengthen its local structures ahead of the 2024 elections because the branches are the base of the party with the utterly tremendous mandate to prevent and safeguard every single ballot at the polling stations.
“As a former National Organizer, I’ve realized that most of our branches are very inactive, and I strongly believe pragmatic measures ought to be taken to revive them for this year’s Elections.”
“Let’s empower the branch executives because they’re the optimum when it comes to the knowledge of local politics,” he emphasized.
Mr Akamba advised all party members to strive for unity and togetherness, since a divided front is bad for winning the 2024 elections. He reiterated the point that the NDC winning this year’s elections is non-negotiable.
