Ghanaian international reggae artist and social activist, Black Prophet, has urged Ghanaians to support Ghanaian reggae musicians in order to push them to the deserving pedestal.
He said in an interview with Blakk Rasta on the 3FM Urban Blend Show on 20 October 2023 that when the local reggae artists are celebrated and supported here in Ghana, it will make the rest of the world appreciate their talent.
“I know I do quality and conscious music. Once we push and celebrate our own Ghanaian musicians they will get the respect they deserve.
And once we start promoting our own we will realize the quality of the talents we have in Ghana” he stated.
The musician who is promoting his latest album titled ‘From Osu’ also advised people, especially young musicians to listen more than they talk if they want to learn and grow.
“Listen more than you talk. Once you listen you learn more. Once you talk more than you listen you will lose the time. Stay positive, listen more and let your music speak for itself” Black Prophet admonished.
He admitted that sometimes one may face a hostile audience but as a musician, one should stay focused and deliver.
“Once you get the opportunity to be on stage don’t look at who is treating you badly. Do your best once you get your few minutes and let the people know what you stand for or do” he encouraged.
