Eastern Media for Development (EM4D) – a collation of Media personnel in the Eastern Region has appealed to President Nana Akufo-Addo to consider re-appointing of some Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Region for the continuation of the unprecedented develops in the Region.
According to the journalists whose core mandate is to advocate for the overall development of the Eastern Region while holding duty bearers accountable, they believe some of the immediate past MMDCEs have performed selflessly in their various Assemblies hence need to be recognized. They stated this at a press conference at Nkawkaw addressed by it’s Chairman Emmanuel Yeboah Gyan Maxwell. They listed some Nine Chief Executives who they believe have passed the excellent mark in terms of performance.
The list includes; Hon. Lawyer Yaw Owusu Addo, Hon. Simon Tetteh, Hon. Comfort Asante, Hon. George Ofori and Hon. Florence Governor. They are the Municipal and District Chief Executives for Kwahu West, Lower Manya Krobo, New Juaben North, Kwahu Afram Plains South, and Ayensuano respectively.

The rest include the MCE for Kwahu South Emmanuel Attah Ofori Snr., MCE for New Juaben South Isaac Apaw Gyasi, MCE for West Akim Seth Oduro Boadu and the MCE for Suhum Margaret Darko Darkwah.
“During the year under review the above listed MMDA’s together with their distinguished MMDCEs have embarked on so many physical projects across all sectors of the economy, including, education, transport, health, sanitation, security, recreation, governance, economic development, roads, sports, just to mention a few. Most of these projects have been completed as others are at various levels of completion,” the chairman emphasized.
The outstanding MMDCEs have out of their dedication and service been recognized by various cooperate organizations across the globe, notable among them is the ‘Circle of Excellence Awards in Leadership’.
The group said that based on the forgoing assessment of the achievements of the MMDCEs “it would be prudent for president Akufo-Addo to retain the above listed Chief Executives Officers to see the completion of the ongoing projects initiated to transform the life’s of the ordinary people in the Region”.
