Madam Selly Slicka, Chief Executive Officer of Slicka Media has pleaded with government to consider releasing money from the Covid-19 trust fund to the telecommunication companies in the country for onward transfer to all mobile money account holders on their networks to cushion them during this tough time of lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The young film producer, made the call at a food distribution program organized by her outfit at Kwabenya in Accra.
“I have seen that people have donated a lot of money, so I am pleading with government that, they should work with the mobile money operators and give them some of these monies so all registered accounts irrespective of the network can get some too, even GHC50 will be appreciated by all Ghanaians” she opined.
Madam Selly Slicka explains that, Slicka Media decided to move into the Kwabenya community to feed the poor and vulnerable there because the lockdown has brought a lot of suffering to the people that are leaving below the poverty line in the community and all well-meaning Ghanaians must see the need to support these people in their communities with the little resources they have.
She further stated that, the virus is real and all persons must take all the education by the relevant authorities seriously.
“For us at Slicka, we have produced short movies to educate the public on the various protocols that must be observed to prevent the spread of the virus” she added.
The Vibrant CEO advised the public to adhere to frequent hand washing practises, use of alcohol based sanitizers and use of all protective materials to prevent more community spread of Covid-19.
Slicka Media is a movie and advertising company in Kwabenya, with great movies on various social issues under their belt. The company over the years has mentored underground actors and actresses into stardom.
