National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), has described the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama as a ‘Dumsor Dumsor president’ because he was not able to manage the ‘Dumsor Pandemic’ that hit the nation during his regime.
“Mahama told us that if you want to enjoy stable electricity, you need to pay more. This was after he had inflicted the nation with the dumsor issue. But today, Nana Akufo-Addo is giving free water and electricity and giving incentives to young people especially those in the health sector,” Nana B stated.
In an interview with Citi FM’s Bernard Avle on the Citi Breakfast show (CBS), Nana B says Ghanaians gave Mahama the nod to stir the affairs of the nation but failed to deliver.
“The man seeking to come back again, the man making all these promises, the man promising Ghanaians that he will bring heaven down has been president and Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces before. The man who is promising the $10 billion Big Push is the same man who said he was going to bring in private business partners and at the end of the day, he couldn’t even do it,” he added.

According to Nana B, Ghanaians need to test all the promises of Mahama.
“…we need to test every promise; we need to tell Ghanaians that he’s been president before, we need to tell them that he is a ‘dumsor dumsor’ president. We need to let Ghanaians know that under his watch, there was the ‘dumsor dumsor’ pandemic…”
He further explained that the NPP is currently employing a special strategic style in its campaign to reach out to a large number of Ghanaians.
“We have the President, the Vice-President, the first lady, and then the second lady as well has been phenomenal and then we have the party structure itself, which is the main one. The party executives, campaign leadership, the regional leadership, polling station leadership, parliamentary candidates so they also form the fifth finger so we have five fingers.”
He added that the NPP is currently focusing their campaign messages on two key areas; thus, accounting for their stewardship and what they intend to do again for Ghanaians as they seek another term in office.
