Leader and flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, will meet with the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) today to present his nomination for Running Mate, a significant step mandated by the NDC constitution.
The nomination process commenced earlier with Mahama presenting his choice to the Council of Elders, signaling the commencement of a pivotal day in the NDC’s pre-election activities.
The party’s constitution underscores the importance of this nomination, requiring the presidential candidate to select a running mate in close consultation with both the National Executive Committee and the National Council of Elders.
The selection of a Running Mate is seen as a cornerstone in the party’s quest to forge a robust team committed to championing the welfare of Ghanaians and steering the nation towards recovery and prosperity.
In a statement, special Aide to the former President, Joyce Bawah Mogtari expressed Mahama’s confidence in his nominee and indicted the chosen individual aligns with the NDC’s values and vision and will play a crucial role in securing electoral victory.
