Renowned political activist, Oliver Barker Vormawor, has described former President Mahama’s flagship policy, the 24-hour economy as empty.
He contends that the policy is nothing more than a catchphrase, intended to deceive Ghanaians to vote for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a social media post on Monday, February 26, he stressed that it is strange for Mr. Mahama to select the 24-hour economy as the main policy agenda.
“24H Economy is such a strange choice as a flagship policy agenda. Even Worse. It’s empty! Sloganeering = Fanfooling. Bɛt this is Ghana,” he wrote.
The NDC flagbearer in 2023 launched the initiative, which he deems as a way for Ghana’s economic growth and development.
The main goal of the Mahama 24-Hour Economy is to turn the country into a self-sufficient and export-led economy through a three-shift work schedule.
Mahama argues that the initiative will benefit businesses, create employment for the many youth who are seeking jobs.
