Melissa, just gave birth to twins on Christmas day. Her joy knew no bounds when her babies were handed over to her at the labour ward of the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
As she was wheeled to the recovery room, little did she know another huge surprise awaits her! For having her babies on Christmas day, the MTN Ghana foundation came to surprise Melissa with hampers full of goodies for her children. She was just overjoyed!
“This is a beautiful gesture and I cannot thank you MTN enough. You’ve given my twins their first gift and it means so much to us. Thank you MTN. I only ask MTN Ghana Foundation to continue to celebrate mothers and newborn babies every year”
Melissa is one of 20 mothers who were presented with hampers by the MTN Ghana Foundation at the Tamale Teaching Hospital and Yendi Government Hospital-both in the Northern Region.
Obed Adu Amankwa, Northern Sector Area Sales Manager who led a team from MTN Ghana to make the presentation said “It’s the season of giving and sharing and MTN is taking its place within this space and all the nurses, mothers and I’m sure babies alike are all happy. “We have been receiving positive feedbacks” He said.
Mr. Amankwah also promised customers of many innovative and exciting products and services in the coming year while urging customers of MTN to report any complaint they encounter at various location offices so that they can be rectified.
Principal Midwife at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Hajia Zanab Yahaya, commended the MTN Ghana Foundation for their gesture and hoped other companies would emulate what they do for new born babies on every Christmas Day.
A total of 11 women delivered on December 25th, 2019 at the Tamale Teaching Hospital whereas 9 others delivered at the Yendi Government Hospital.
Since its inception in 2011, the MTN Ghana Foundation has donated over 1300 hampers to babies born between 24th and 26th December.
