Mampong Akwapim: Our Mortuary is full, Come for your dead bodies – Traditional council

The Mampong Akwapim Traditional council and Tetteh Quashie memorial hospital are appealing to residents who have bereaved family members in the mortuary to come for them.

The Traditional Council warned that failure to do so will result in mass burial to decongest the morgue.

In an interview with Journalists, the Apesemakahene of Mampong Akwapim, Nana Yirenkyi l, said the management of the hospital has revealed to the council that the morgue is full, hence the need to decongest.

Nana Yirenkyi l explained that the hospital management and the traditional council are giving families one month to come for their dead bodies or they will conduct mass burial.

“We are not in normal times so everyone should accept the President’s decision and adhere to social distancing protocols,” he stated.

He further urged all residents to also ensure they have not more than 25 people at the funeral in line with the President’s directive.
