A military jeep carrying five personnel was involved in a serious accident on Friday October 16, 2024 at around 4:30 pm near the Binduri Electoral Commission (EC) office, close to the campsite of Brazilian contractor Queros Galvao MI, currently working on the Bolgatanga-Bawku highway.
According to our sources on the ground, the military vehicle, which was reportedly traveling at high speed in rainy conditions, suffered a burst tyre. The driver lost control, causing the jeep to somersault multiple times before it eventually veered off the road.
One of the passengers is feared dead, while the other occupants are said to be in critical condition. Emergency services rushed to the scene to provide aid to the injured.
