A chilling incident of gang rape has shaken the Mpraeso Senior High School community in the Kwahu South Municipality of the Eastern Region, leaving a 16-year-old female student traumatized.

The Incident

The victim had gone to the school canteen to buy food when one of the suspects called her over. As she approached him, seven other boys suddenly appeared, dragged her down, and forcibly raped her.

School’s Response

The school’s disciplinary committee has taken swift action, dismissing all eight suspects.

The matter has been handed over to the Nkwatia Divisional Police Command, which has arrested five of the suspects.

A manhunt is underway for the remaining three.

Police Investigation

The police are currently preparing the docket to send the suspects to court for prosecution.

The incident has raised concerns about student safety and the need for increased security measures within the school.
