Speaking at the launch, the Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer of MTN Ghana, Adwoa Wiafe said the new Digital Hero category is designed to recognise individuals using digital platforms to solve challenges in Africa. This category focusses on those leveraging platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and others to organise workshops, educate people, or positively impact lives.

Adwoa Wiafe encouraged Ghanaians to nominate selfless individuals who are making significant contributions to society, urging them to help such heroes receive the recognition they deserve in this year’s edition of the program.

The MTN Heroes of Change seeks to identify and honour selfless individuals who dedicate their time and resources to improving their communities and uplifting lives.

It celebrates contributions in the key areas of health, education, and economic empowerment, which are the focus of the MTN Ghana Foundation.

Since its inception in 2007, the MTN Ghana Foundation has invested GHS106 million in over 166 major projects across these three areas, directly impacting about 4.5 million people.
