Nigerian actress and movie producer, Regina Daniels has shared the untold story behind her marriage to Senator Prince Chinedu Munir Nwoko, popularly known as Ned Nwoko five years ago.
In a social media post, the 24-year-old recounted the obstacles she encountered from her family when she decided to choose a man who was three times older than her despite having countless suitors at her disposal.
“I was going to visit my boyfriend, I was so angry, I was like mum, ‘Why do we all need to go visit and go sightseeing?’. But when we got there, we met a cute man. Moral of the story: Your boyfriend should not stop you from finding your husband.
“When I saw him with my husband, I forgot I was supposed to have a boyfriend. At that time, I had like 20 boyfriends. All serving different purposes. When people think I didn’t have a choice or my mum forced me, not knowing that my mum was against it. My full family said No.”
She has promised to fully recount their love story but this insight was aimed at dispelling rumours suggesting she was forced into the marriage.
The couple got married in 2019 at a time when Regina was only 19 whereas the politician who was already married was 58.
