‘My target is to get to the final’ – Black Galaxies coach Annor Walker ahead of CHAN tournament

“Most of the players that qualified for the team are here and we are trying to watch some news ones that have come t beef up. This is our third week and with what I am seeing, there is an improvement in the team but for me, we are not there yet,”

Ghana’s Black Galaxies coach Annor Walker is dreaming of reaching the final of the 2023 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament in Algeria next year.

The competition starts on January 13 with Ghana making their first appearance at the tournament since 2014 in Libya where they reached the final.

After guiding the Black Galaxies team to qualify for the CHAN tournament for the first time after missing the last three editions, the former Accra Great Olympics FC gaffer is already dreaming big.

“My target is to get to the finals and if it’s the will of God that I should win the tournament, I will be more grateful to the Almighty. But my target, for now, is to get to at least the final of the competition,” he told Ghanafa.org.

“Most of the players that qualified for the team are here and we are trying to watch some news ones that have come t beef up. This is our third week and with what I am seeing, there is an improvement in the team but for me, we are not there yet,” he added.

Ghana will face giant and defending champions Morocco in the group stages as well as Sudan and Madagascar.
