Nana Kwame Bediako announces independent presidential bid due to party registration challenges

This decision comes after facing significant challenges in registering his party with the Electoral Commission (EC).

Nana Kwame Bediako, the leader of The New Force Movement, has announced his intention to run as an independent candidate in the upcoming presidential elections.

This decision comes after facing significant challenges in registering his party with the Electoral Commission (EC).

At a press conference held this morning at the Kwarleys Residence, Bediako detailed the obstacles his party encountered during the registration process.

Despite submitting all required forms and documents on September 12, 2023, THE NEW FORCE received only a provisional certificate after eight months of waiting. According to Bediako, the EC’s delay in issuing a full party registration made it impossible for them to campaign effectively within the given timeframe.

“After eight months of waiting and only receiving a provisional license, it has become clear that pursuing a full party license in time for the elections is impractical. Therefore, we have decided to proceed with an independent candidacy,” Bediako stated.

Bediako emphasized that his decision to run independently is driven by a commitment to the nation’s development, free from bureaucratic hindrances. He reassured Ghanaians of his dedication to bringing economic freedom, equity, equality, and empowerment to all citizens.

“This campaign is a revolution for a prosperous future. Running as an independent allows us to bypass entrenched interests and bureaucratic delays, focusing instead on unleashing the immense potential of our nation’s resources and people,” Bediako explained.

The press conference also highlighted Bediako’s vision for Ghana, which includes fostering a mindset of democracy, ambition, and entrepreneurship among its citizens. He stressed that his commitment to the people of Ghana remains unwavering, and his campaign aims to ensure that the voices of all Ghanaians are heard and represented.

Nana Kwame Bediako’s announcement has sparked significant interest and support among his followers, many of whom believe that his independent bid could bring a fresh perspective to Ghana’s political landscape.
