An official of the National Investigative Bureau (NIB) was reportedly attacked at gunpoint in his home in Chrispo City, a suburb of Kasoa in the Central Region.
According to a report by Adom TV on August 21, 2024, the officer and his family were ambushed by armed robbers while they were asleep.
The robbers, armed with guns and machetes, tied up the officer and his wife before ransacking their home.
The attackers took valuables including money, gadgets, and the family’s car. During the robbery, the couple was reportedly manhandled after refusing to provide the PIN codes to their bank accounts.
Following the incident, the officer has relocated his wife and children for their safety.
Footage broadcasted by Adom TV showed what appeared to be bullet marks on the walls of the officer’s home and also displayed the stolen car, a Toyota Corolla with registration number GX-1651-20.
