NDC MPs issue 3-day ultimatum to President Akufo-Addo to share ambulances

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members in Parliament, (MPs) have given a three-day ultimatum to President Akufo-Addo to distribute ambulances that are parked at the Parliament House to the underserved communities to avert more deaths.

According to the MPs, the ambulances that have been kept at the premises of Parliament for months must be sent out for the purposes they were procured.

At a media briefing, the MP for Juaboso, Kwamena Akandoh Mintah, accused the Government and Health Ministry for deliberately keeping the ambulances to be distributed come 2020 for electoral gains.

He said, “as you can all see, behind us are ambulances parked here for months.

Meanwhile, people are dying every day for lack of ambulances”.

He, therefore, called on the Government as a matter of urgency to distribute these ambulances within a maximum of three days”.

Mr. Mintah stressed that Parliament has an ambulance already and “we don’t need them, they must be moved to people who need them” to avert more deaths in rural communities.
