NDC’s Care for Change National Medical Outreach provides free healthcare to thousands in Bono East

Over five days, markets, artisan hubs, and remote villages became bustling centres for critical healthcare services at no cost to residents.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reaffirmed its dedication to the well-being of Ghanaians with the launch of its NDC Care for Change National Medical Outreach Project.

This nationwide initiative, which began in the Bono East region from October 18 to October 22, 2024, delivered free medical consultations, surgical procedures, and essential medication to nearly 10,000 patients across 11 constituencies in the region.

Forming a central pillar of the NDC Care for Change Campaign, collaborating with the Traders and Artisans Network (TAN)—left a lasting impact on thousands of beneficiaries while mobilizing communities for change.

Over five days, markets, artisan hubs, and remote villages became bustling centres for critical healthcare services at no cost to residents.

Communities such as Kwame Danso (Sene West), Kedjeji (Sene East), Prang (Pru West), Yeji (Pru East), Kintampo North, Kintampo South, Techiman South, Techiman North, Fiema, Kokrompe (Nkoranza North), and others, benefitted immensely from the outreach, receiving not only medical assistance but a tangible message of support and compassion.

For many in these often-overlooked areas, the NDC’s medical team offered not only health interventions but also a promise of better governance under a future NDC administration.

Community members expressed heartfelt gratitude for the outreach and praised former President John Dramani Mahama for his compassion and leadership, even while in opposition.

“This act of kindness shows that John Mahama has the heart of a true leader.

We believe in his commitment to uplift the health of every Ghanaian, and we look forward to seeing him back in office,” said a resident of Prang.

Beyond healthcare, the Care for Change Medical Outreach also focused on community engagement, voter education, and political mobilization.

Traders, artisans, and other residents were not only attended to by medical professionals but were also educated on voting procedures, reinforcing the importance of proper voting practices in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

The success of this initiative was driven by a strong partnership between the NDC Care for Change Campaign and TAN under the NDC Youth Wing, strengthening the bond between the NDC and grassroots communities. Leading the effort was Comrade Dr. Fred Bedzrah, National Coordinator of the NDC Care for Change Campaign, who took a hands-on role in attending to patients and ensuring no one was left behind. Supporting him was Comrade Bilal Muaza Suleimana, Deputy National Coordinator of TAN, who directed outreach operations across Bono East’s 11 constituencies, ensuring seamless coordination and care delivery.

Together, these leaders demonstrated that the NDC is not only promising change but actively delivering it, one community at a time.

The Bono East outreach is just the beginning.

The NDC Care for Change Medical Outreach will expand to the Ashanti, Volta, and Oti regions, starting October 28, 2024, to bring healthcare services to thousands more and engage citizens on the NDC’s transformative policies.
