Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana is said to have taken delivery of some new Biometric Verification Machines (BVM) and other machines that would enable them carry out the intended new voter registration exercise schedule for commencement on June 30, 2020.
A letter intercepted by ghananewsonline.com.gh which written and signed by the Deputy Commissioner in – charge of Corperate Services for the EC, Dr Bossman Asare, indicates that the EC has scheduled Thursday, June 18, 2020 for the testing of its new BVM and other machines ahead of the nationwide registration exercise.
Portions of the letter addressed to the various political parties inviting them to participate in the exercise reads “the Commission is desirous of furthering testing the kits and operating system. As a key stakeholder in our nation’s development we hope that you will participate in this exercise.
“We hope to receive your constructive feedback as this may help strengthen our processes”.
Even though, date and time have been provided, the venue for the exercise is yet to be made known to the political parties. Ghananewsonline.com.gh has however gathered that the excercise would be taking place at the Ridge Church.
The letter also requested the political parties to present up to 10 people to go through the testing exercise.
