The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, highlighted that between January and November 2024, the Research and Innovations Directorate successfully executed 172 research grant contracts, amounting to approximately 70 billion US dollars.

The University of Ghana has urged its newly graduated students to be innovative and open to new opportunities to boost their careers and achieve their dreams of serving their country.

The synchronized congregation of all schools took place at the Cedi Conference Hall, where a total of 15,750 students graduated. Among them, 123 earned PhD degrees, 3,444 obtained master’s degrees, 11,067 completed undergraduate programs, and 1,116 received diploma certificates.

Speaking at the 2025 congregation ceremony for the School of Graduate Studies and Undergraduate Programs, the Chief Executive of Star Assurance Group, Mr. Samuel Ocran, congratulated the students for their hard work and commitment to education as a means of improving their social and professional accomplishments.

He noted that technological advancements have accelerated opportunities for learning, data analysis, and processing vast amounts of information. He emphasized that since the world is constantly evolving, graduates must be willing to adapt to stay ahead.

Mr. Ocran urged the graduates to give back to their communities, their alma mater, and those who supported them in their journey to success. He stressed that success is not a one-dimensional pursuit but rather a multifaceted endeavor that requires different perspectives and approaches. He also encouraged them not to be discouraged by setbacks or failures but to view them as learning opportunities and stepping stones toward achieving their goals.

Additionally, eight students were selected for intensive training in “Art as a Business,” equipping them with skills to make their mark in the arts industry. Their first exhibition showcased 24 pieces, serving as a testament to the talent and potential of the students.

Mr. Kwasi Safo, the best graduating student with a Master of Business Administration in Health Services Management, pledged on behalf of the graduates to utilize their skills, innovation, and integrity to make meaningful contributions in healthcare and other sectors.

“We are determined to make a meaningful impact. We will find solutions to everyday challenges,” he concluded.
