NGO Supports Retired Footballers in Cape Coast to Fight Covid-19

All Souls Outreach a charity organization that works to alleviate poverty among the poor and vulnerable in Ghana has donated food, face masks and hand sanitizers to the retired footballers and residents of Cape Coast in the Central Region. The gesture was part of the organizations’ efforts of minimizing the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on the less privileged in the country.

Speaking to ghananewsonline.com.gh, the Director of All Souls Outreach, Samuel Dadzie explains that All Souls Outreach believes in supporting various vulnerable groups in the country and retired footballers are people that have contributed a lot to the development of sports in the country.

“Our CEO, Dr. Francis Otoo is a retired footballer and he believes it is a good call to support our former players today,” he said.

Former Black Star player and Patron of the Cape Coast retired players association, James Kuku Dadzie was full of praise for All Souls Outreach for the kind gesture and pleaded with government to come to the aid of retired players because they have made great sacrifices for the nation in years passed.

He further added that, government should consider a package for the various retired player associations because it is becoming very difficult for many to make ends meet.

“Government must find away or mechanism to support some of us who have sacrifice for the nation, so we can have something to cheer about” he indicated.

The former Coach of the Black Princesses, put up a spirited defense of the fact that retired players were more committed to duties of the national team than the current crop of players.

“It is on record that the retired players when we were playing the players are better than current players technically and tactically and it is not always about the money before the game,” he said.

James Kuku Dadzie, who also played for Asante Kotoko Football Club, advised that all persons must take the health protocols seriously to avoid contracting the novel Covid-19.
