The incumbent National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Ofosu-Amoofo who is seeking re-election and the outgoing General Secretary who is contesting to be elected as National Chair, Johnson Asiedu Nketia are all experienced members of the party who have served in various capacities for years, former Finance Minister Seth Terkper has said.

Mr Terkper indicated that the two of them are deep in knowledge and ideas when it comes to NDC politics and politics in general, as well as governance.

Mr Nketia is a former Member of Parliament likewise Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Mr Terkper said.

To that end, he added, whoever wins the elections today, Saturday December 17, will still have the experience to support the NDC.

“Where ever the chips fall, experience is still there. They have been there for many years. That is the most important thing, the best thing is to have a smooth conference,” Mr Terkper told Journalists at the Accra Sports stadium, venue of the NDC’s congress.

The NDC will be going to the polls today, Saturday  December 17 to elect national executives.

The elections will take lace at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Nearly 10,000 delegates are expected to cast their ballot to elect the officers.
