Kumawood comic actor, Kwaku Manu has criticized Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, often referred to as NAPO, for his comments comparing President Akufo-Addo contribution’s to Ghana’s development to Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
It would be recalled that on July 9, the newly unveiled running mate to the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh said that no president in the history of Ghana has helped to develop the country more than President Akufo-Addo.
In response to NAPO’s comments, Kwaku Manu in a video which has so far gone viral passionately defended Kwame Nkrumah’s legacy and achievements:
“Kufuor capped the dollar to One Cedi, but he never compared himself to Kwame Nkrumah. Kwame Nkrumah? Someone who did a shoe factory… it wasn’t by mouth, the factory was working. We were doing car tyres at that time. We gained independence with Kwame Nkrumah. He did Tema Harbour… show me a government like him. Nkrumah built the universities and most Senior High Schools, how do you compare yourself to him,” Kwaku Manu fired back.
The Kumawood actor questioned how any current government could draw comparisons to Kwame Nkrumah’s legacy.
He emphasized that the accomplishments of the late former president changed the country and were more than simply empty words.
