NPP cancels plans for Run-Off; NEC to choose between Boakye Agyarko and Addai-Nimo

Earlier, the party had given hints that it would conduct a second round of the Special Delegates Election on Saturday

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has decided that it would take up the option of selecting the fifth candidate to make up the list of final five for the presidential primaries.

Subsequently, the party will conduct the exercise by granting NEC the power to choose, by a process of election among its members, as to who joins the first four.

The first four who are already through to contest on November 4, are Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Mr. Alan Kyeremateng and DR. Akoto Afriyie.

Earlier, the party had given hints that it would conduct a second round of the Special Delegates Election on Saturday to select who comes in as fifth, but it seems that the party now views the exercise as too prohibitive financially and has therefore elected the option of granting NEC the privilege of who occupies the fifth position.
