The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ayawaso North Constituency has extended its appreciation to the Chiefs, Imams, and Ghana Police Service for their swift actions and dedicated efforts in restoring peace and order in the recent political unrest in Mamobi.
This comes in the wake of political clashes that erupted between supporters of the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) two weeks ago.
In a press statement signed by the Constituency Chairman, Robert Annor (Kelly), the NPP leadership praised the swift and professional intervention by the Ghana Police Service, whose quick actions effectively prevented the situation from escalating further and safeguarded public safety.
“We commend the Ghana Police Service for their commitment to maintaining law and order, which has been crucial in preserving stability in our constituency,” the statement read.
According to the leadership of the Ayawaso North NPP, both the Chiefs and Imams must be praised and appreciated because, he added, they played a very crucial role in promoting peace and harmony in the area.
“Their guidance and wisdom, as well as leadership, were instrumental in bringing about understanding and reconciliation, helping the community move forward with a sense of unity,” he said.
The Constituency Chairman urged supporters of both political parties to continue respecting each other’s views or differences and remain committed to peace and contribute positively toward building a harmonious and progressive community.
“Our heartfelt thanks go to our Chiefs, Imams, and the Ghana Police Service. Their dedication has allowed peace to flourish once again, and we remain grateful for their unwavering commitment to the people of Ayawaso North,” the statement concluded.
The Ayawaso North NPP leadership remains hopeful that these collaborative efforts will serve as a foundation for continued peace and development in the region.
