It is disheartening to hear that a critical sect of our party ( the communication team) in the Upper East Region is unhappy with the appointment of Hon. Peter Ayinbisa as head of communication.
In view of this, they have resorted to exercising their right to protest in declaring a sit-down strike.
Prominent in their argument is the fact that Hon. Ayinbisa is an ‘outsider’ and does not represent the culture, aspirations and experiential expertise of the communication unit of our party.
While I will categorically dissent in such proposition, I am concern that if leadership does not act momentarily to nip this issue now, same might bring the image of the party to disrepute. On the part of my colleague the communicators, I will humble call for us to consider competence, and the fresh inputs that the appointee is bringing onboard rather than seeking to cage the communication unit to ourselves. Same will not inure to our advantage and for the party at all.
It is opportune therefore for me highlight that the importance and indispensable nature of a communication unit to our party and any other organisation for that matter cannot be taking for granted. You play with them and you are derailing any success or potential success ever imagined or gained by your organisation.
The communicators of our party plays the critical role of public relations officers: doing all in their expert wisdom and might, sometimes sacrificially to project a positive image of our party. If the public will gravitate towards us and give us the opportunity to break the 8, it will depend on how we treat our communicators and the department at large.
For this reason, I am calling for an immediate intervention by our respected regional leadership to act now in rescuing the situation.
We have a daunting task ahead in heeding to the clarion call of the Ghanaian people for us to break the 8 to consolidate the remarkable gains made so far in this regime. Let us not weaponize the do-little NDC with self-inflicting ammunition.
We can do this patriots, let’s do it for God and country.
God bless you all
