‘NPP is desperate to ‘break the 8′ to cover up the 8 years of loot, corruption’ – Mahama

The former President says in its bid to conceal the rot from its administration from Ghanaians, the Akufo-Addo administration wants to handover to the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

John Dramani Mahama, flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has explained why the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is desperate to retain power in the 2024 election.

The former President says in its bid to conceal the rot from its administration from Ghanaians, the Akufo-Addo administration wants to handover to the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Speaking to residents of La-Bawaleshi in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency Thursday, July 18, 2024, John Mahama urged Ghanaians not to give the NPP another mandate to shield the loot and corruption that has marred the nation under this administration.

He wants Ghanaians to vote against the NPP to expose its mismanagement fraught with stealing and massive corruption.

“Why they are desperate to ‘break the 8’ is to do a cover up of the 8 years of atrocities that they have inflicted on Ghanaians and so they need a pliant vice president to come and inherit them so that all the loot, all the corruption, all the stealing would be covered up,” he indicated.

He says a vote for the New Patriotic Party would be a third term for President Akufo-Addo, the reason he wants Ghanaians to reject the NPP.

“A vote for the NPP candidate in this 2024 election is a vote for a third term for Nana Akufo-Addo,” John Mahama has said.

The flag bearer of the opposition NDC, was, however, confident that the Ghanaian people will not give them the mandate know the impact that would have for the fortunes of this country.

“But it won’t happen, the good people of Ghana know better,” he noted.

He added that voting the NPP out of power in December will be the only means the world will know that Ghana is indeed ready for a turnaround.

“The best signal we can send to the world that Ghana is ready for a turnaround is to vote out the NPP. Then we will be taken seriously that we want to do a turnaround,” he stated.
