Following a communication from the lawyers of political science lecturer Prof Ransford Gyampo, the National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken back and apologized for a defamatory comment.
In a press statement, Salam Mustapha accused the lecturer of doing the bidding of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to earn an appointment when they win the election in 2024.
He also accused the lecturer of sleeping with students for grades.
However in another statement dated November 1, 2024, Salam admitted he has no data or evidence to back the allegation.
“Given that I have no evidence to back the allegations I made against Prof Gyampo, I hereby retract and and render unqualified apology to him.”
