NSA justifies decision to reject Hearts of Oak’s request to play at Accra Sports Stadium

According to the NSA, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) initially announced the venue without securing a formal agreement. Additionally, the request from the GFA was received too late, making it impossible to complete the necessary protocols and preparations required to host the game.

The National Sports Authority (NSA) has provided reasons for denying Hearts of Oak’s request to host their Ghana Premier League match against Nations FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.

According to the NSA, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) initially announced the venue without securing a formal agreement. Additionally, the request from the GFA was received too late, making it impossible to complete the necessary protocols and preparations required to host the game.

As a result, Hearts of Oak will now face Nations FC at the Tuba Astroturf on Thursday.

The Phobians have been without a permanent home venue this season, playing their matches at the University of Ghana Stadium since September 2024 due to concerns over the Accra Sports Stadium’s condition. However, that venue has also been closed for renovations ahead of the CAF African Schools Football Championship, scheduled from April 21 to April 26, 2025.

With limited options, Hearts of Oak have been forced to turn to the Tuba Astroturf, a significantly smaller venue compared to the Accra Sports Stadium.
