The Ayeyi Impact Foundation, a non-governmental organisation based in Kpassa in the Oti Region, has launched its ‘Mentor Her’ project in Nkwanta, urging stakeholders to collaborate in empowering young girls and unlocking their full potential.
The project focuses on educating girls about sexual and reproductive health, teenage pregnancy prevention, knowing their rights, and making informed life choices.
Founder of the Foundation, Mr. Richard Tsekpokpokumah, highlighted the organisation’s dedication to environmental protection, human rights advocacy, and promoting girl-child education through mentorship, skills training, and scholarships.
“Our vision is to foster a safe, healthy community that prioritizes human rights and advocates for the education of girls,” he said.
Mr. Tsekpokpokumah also called on philanthropists, NGOs, and government bodies to support the initiative.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Danso Afi Yayra, a district court official, encouraged the girls to aim high and not limit themselves to traditional roles.
“Ladies are excelling in various fields in this 21st century, and you should not be left behind,” she remarked.
Participants expressed the need for more mentoring, with parents thanking the Foundation for its efforts to inspire the next generation of female leaders.
