Odawna Fire Outbreak: Trader gives shocking Revelation

A victim of the terrifying fire that broke out on Wednesday dawn at the Odawna market close to the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange in Accra has revealed an encounter she claims she had with a national service person who was with the National Security some two months ago.

In an interview with Ghananewsonline.com.gh, the trader (name withheld) narrated her encounter:

“I was in my shop about two months ago when a young man came to me, claiming he was from the National Security. I asked for proof, of which he showed his ID card to me. Truly, he was a National Service Person with the National Security. He then asked me what we would do if a disaster, like fire, broke out in the market. I responded by saying we will throw ourselves in the fire and get burnt with our wares because those wares are all that we have left. He finally thanked me, took my phone number and promised to call me when the need be.”

According to the trader, the encounter she had with the young man who claimed he was from the national security, made her smell something fishy in the inferno that struck the Odwana market in the early hours of Wednesday.

She said she has a strong feeling that the government has a hand in the disaster.
