Okaikoi North NPP Primaries: Afia Akoto and Nana Dokua not qualified to contest – Ken Kuranchie

The Ace Journalists and Lawyer disclosed  this to the media at the primaries grounds on Saturday.

A front runner in the ongoing Parliamentary Primaries, of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the OkaiKoi North constituency, Kenneth Adjei Kuranchie, has stated that two of his contenders Afia Akoto and Nana Dokua were not qualified to contest in the primaries.

He explained that the fairness of an election is not an event but a process, and that the Party, allowing the two female Aspirants to contest meant the process is not free and fair.

The Ace Journalists and Lawyer disclosed  this to the media at the primaries grounds on Saturday.

He explained further that Afia Akoto for instance became a card bearing member of the NPP in 2023 which he said is an automatic disqualification.

In the case of Nana Ama Dokua, the Managing Editor of the Daily Searchlight said she does not meet the requirements that qualifies her to contest owing to her sudden switch from Akropong to this Constituency.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kuranchie, who is contesting for the third time, is optimistic of getting the desired votes required to place him on the ballot paper going into the 2024 elections, but former Member of Parliament of the Constituency, Fuseini Issah, who is also in the race is unfazed.
