Otumfuor must Speak on LGBTQI+ activities in Ghana – Moses Foh Amoaning

The anti LGBTQ campaigner underscored a crucial role customary law plays in the country's constitution.

The Executive Secretary of the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values, Lawyer Moses Foh Amoaning, has made a passionate appeal to the overlord of Asanteman, Otumfour Osei Tutu II to make a definite pronouncement on the Anti LGBTQ Bill to criminalize LGBTQI+ activities in Ghana.

The Anti LGBTQ campaigner underscored a crucial role customary law plays in the country’s constitution. He mentioned that article 39 (1) of Ghana’s constitution explains how the customary laws should be included in national policy, adding that, the same law talks about how Ghanaian cultural values should be used to educate the youth and children.

Lawyer Moses Foh Amoaning described the Asantehene as a symbol of both Akan and Asante culture which is why his reaction to LGBTQ+ activities will have a positive impact not only in Ghana but across the world.

Lawyer Amoaning, a guest speaker on LGBTQI+ public forum made the appeal in a sideline interview with Kessben FM’s Osempakani Sampson on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Christian Service University College.

He insisted that LGBTQ is never a human right but its community is gaining intelligentsia to divert peoples attention from the consequences of the act and focus on human right which according to him is a palpable lie.

Lawyer Moses Foh Amoaning maintained that the stance of Otumfour Osei Tutu II will put the issue at rest and calm nerves and bring relief to many in the country.

He further indicated that the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values will officially petitioned the Otumfuor for his reaction.
