Opinion: Why Alex King Nartey should lose his job as the Spokesperson of the GNFS

Fellow Ghanaians,

Without being needlessly partisan, I think, in all sincerity, Alex King Nartey should lose his job as a fire officer and especially as a PRO of that Department. There are numerous posts of him insulting President John Dramani Mahama like a nonentity, but he explained that those posts were made when he was not a fire officer. Unfortunately, commonsense eluded him, so when he became an officer, he failed to delete those 1,101 posts ridiculing prominent people in NDC.

My main worry is not about the utterances he made against President John Dramani Mahama or his disrespectful comments about the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. (Dr) Amoakohene. The reason why I am calling for his dismissal is some of the comments he made in reaction to some posts on Facebook yesterday.

Fire officers are trained to feel the pains of victims of fire, and this explains why sometimes they risk themselves to save them.

Can a well-trained fire officer make utterances praying that because somebody said soldiers and policemen did better in fighting Adum fire incident than the Ghana National Fire Service, then may his house be engulfed by fire with him and his family in it so he could fall on police and soldiers to save him?

I have included a screenshot of that comment and added a copy of the text to show verbatim what he wrote. Based on that comment, I am tempted to believe two things:

1. The Fire Officer can cleverly set fire to the property of this young man he had a back-and-forth with on Facebook just to prove a point.

2. If peradventure, the gentleman’s house is on fire and this officer is invited, he will decline the invitation or indulge in needless delay to intentionally ensure that the gentleman and family perish in the fire.

Based on the above, I think he loses his place at the Ghana National Fire Service by his own deeds.

Below were his comments on a post that attacked him:

“I won’t banter with a political DOG like you…But without LICKING the boots of politicians, where will you be?”

“Your house will burn, then you can go and call the military and the police…
IMBECILE”

“I am waiting for the the day your house burns with your family in there, then we will come back here and laugh together
IDIOT”

Can this man continue to be with the GNFS?
