Otabil warns against ‘prophets’ who spread lies and arrogate spiritual powers to themselves

The claim is one of the many fabrications the maverick preacher has made against the IGP over the years.

Head Pastor of the International Central Gospel Church Dr. Mensa Otabil has urged the Charismatic faith and Christians in General to be weary of preachers who arrogate spiritual powers to themselves and fabricate stories to make themselves popular.

The caution comes days after controversial preacher Owusu Bempah claimed that God had told him former President Mahama would win the 2024 polls weeks after assuring Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia that God had given him victory in the upcoming polls.

The controversial preacher weeks ago, without any basis or evidence, also told his congregation that the Inspector-General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare was after his life without any shred of evidence. The claim is one of the many fabrications the maverick preacher has made against the IGP over the years.

Sources say the Police Service has decided to ignore the preacher and his claims as they are false.

In a sermon gone viral, Dr Mensa Otabil said the charismatic is in danger of the current trend of such prophets continue.

“I see danger ahead, I see self distraction for the charismatic and apostolic faith. We see people who call themselves prophets with obvious character floors and they go about doing things all in the sacred name of God. How do we take such a sacred title as prophets and denigrate it like that”.
