Accra Hearts of Oak have allayed fears over concerns about the efficiency of the playing body and the technical team, stating they are endowed with all necessities for success.
The Board of the club expressed their confidence in the team ahead of their second game in the new Ghana Premier League (GPL) season on Sunday, September 15, 2024, away from home.
In their season opener, Hearts lost by a goal to nil to newbies Basake Holy Stars on home soil, creating concerns about the efficacy of the team and their managers. The defeat was succeeded by speculations that Head coach Aboubakar Ouattara had been given a five-match ultimatum to prove himself worthy, a speculation that was later discredited.
“The Board of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club PLC is very much confident that the technical team and players led by the experienced coach Aboubakar Ouattara have all the necessary skills and competencies to bring success to the club and is therefore urging all Phobians to throw their support behind them to succeed,” a statement released by the club on September 13 said.
It further announced a “fruitful” interaction between the Board and the team over discipline, charging them to stay focused and adhere strictly to the instructions of the technical team.
“The squad was further impressed upon to desist from conducts that will affect their career but rather maintain high professional standards, which is key to achieving success,” it also revealed.
Meanwhile, fans have also been urged to maintain their faith in the club.
“The board also urged all stakeholders to repose confidence in the team and desist from making negative commentaries that would affect the image of the team.”
