The ousted Managing Director of the state-owned SIC Insurance Company, Hollistar Duah-Yentumi has filed a writ at the Supreme Court seeking to prevent her successor Jame Agyenim-Boateng from taking over.
In a lawsuit, dated February 4, 2025, the plaintiff is seeking an order to prevent James Agyenim Boateng (2nd defendant) from holding himself as MD of SIC (1st defendant) and also seeking to prevent SIC from referring to James Agyenim Boateng as the MD.
Weeks after President Mahama announced the appointment of James Agyenim Boateng as the new MD for SIC, he has not been able to operate in new office because he has no access to the office.
The ousted MD was reported to have locked her office doors and left with the keys.
But unconfirmed reports had it that she claimed she tried to reach the new MD and do a proper handing over but to no avail.
Those reports also claimed that access to her office is via a biometric details and not a physical key, so her credentials could be deactivated and a new one can be created for the new MD to access the office.
However, James Agyenim Boateng has been telling Techfocus24 that he has been SIC to hold a meeting with the management and he gave reasonable notice before going so it is untrue that the MD cannot have access to him.
He said since his last visit to SIC, has been operating offsite because he has no access to his new office.
“I have been to SIC to hold a meeting with management; I gave them reasonable notice before that meeting convened. I have subsequently been in constant touch with the office and operated off site because I have no access to the office,” he said.
Moreover, the ousted MD has subsequently filed a lawsuit against his taking over from her, so it could not be the case that she is unable to locate him and do a proper handing over.
