Parliament: EC pushing C.I to Rig 2024 Elections for NPP – Minority Whip alleges

"The EC is trying all tricks in parliament to introduce a Constitutional Instrument to RIG in THE 2024 Elections for NPP," he revealed.

New Minority Chief Whip, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has alleged that the Electoral Commission (EC) is in parliament courting support for a new Constitutional Instrument (C.I) that will deliver victory on a silver plater to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 Elections.

In a tweet, Hon. Agbodza asserted that the Electoral Commission is trying out various tricks to rig the 2024 Elections for the ruling party through the introduction of this new Constitutional Instrument (C.I).

“The EC is trying all tricks in parliament to introduce a Constitutional Instrument to RIG in THE 2024 Elections for NPP,” he revealed.

He outlined portions of the Instrument which approves only their District Offices as Registration Centers.

According to the Legislator, the controversial C.I also makes reference to the Ghana Card as the only National Identify Card for registration onto the Electoral Roll.

The Member of Parliament for Adaklu, further revealed among others that the Electoral Commission is seeking to scrap the guarantor system that has been employed in earlier electoral registration processes.

“Think of this: Registration Centres will only be EC district Offices. Use only Ghana card for registration.
No guarantor allowed,” he added.

He invited Ghanaians to think about all the outrageous changes the Electoral Commission intends to effect in the controversial Instrument which is before parliament.
