The Parliament of Ghana will commence the fifth meeting of the fourth session today, October 15, 2024.
This meeting signals the approaching end of the 8th Parliament and the conclusion of Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin’s term as the first Speaker of Parliament from the opposition party in Ghana.
This will take place at the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) as the Chamber of Parliament is undergoing renovation.
The house is expected to pass some pending bills, take some resolutions and motions.
Ministers of various sectors are also expected to appear before the House to answer parliamentary questions.
The Minister of Finance is also expected to present a mini budget for the first quarter of 2025 for the next government.
