Penplusbytes under its African Elections Project (https://www.africanelections.org/), has launched the 2024 Ghana Elections Constituency Watch Series as a means to provide in-depth analysis of the performance and prospects of various political parties and candidates in swing constituencies across the 16 regions of Ghana.
The Constituency Watch Series aims to offer a nuanced understanding of the dynamics and factors that shape the voting patterns and preferences of the electorate in constituencies that are considered crucial for the outcome of the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
According Mr. Peter Agbesi Adivor, Team Lead for the African Elections project, “the Constituency Watch Series is expected to cover at least 40 swing constituencies in Ghana and will be released weekly on the African Elections Project website [a platform that provides weekly comprehensive and credible coverage of electoral processes across the African continent]”.
He added that, “the series will not only be beneficial for political actors, but also for stakeholders, voters, and the general public, as it fosters an informed citizenry and a participatory democracy.”
The Constituency Watch Series is part of the overarching mission of the African Elections Project, which is to ensure vigilant oversight, comprehensive reporting, and incisive analysis of electoral processes in Ghana and Africa as a whole. Through this initiative, Penplusbytes seeks to democratize access to political information and promote transparency, accountability, and good governance in Africa.
