The running mate to John Dramani Mahama in the 2020 presidential elections, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, is expected in the Ketu South constituency to participate in the final funeral rites of the late Constituency Women Organizer, Cyrilla Eli Amegashitsi. The visit has beeen slated for Saturday May 14, 2022 at Denu Chicago School Park.
Professor Opoku Agyemang, made this known when the Memeber of Parlaiment (MP) for the area, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, led a delegation of regional and constituency executivs from Ketu South as well as family members of the late Madam Eli Amegashitsi to her office in Accra to inform her of the funeral arrangements and to officially invite her.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang described the late Eli Amegashitsi as a strong and strategic woman who worked tirelessly and campaigned for the party in the last general elections.
According to the family, through a release issued by the Constituency Secretary, Desmond Kwaku Tsewu noted that “there would be no wake-keeping. Filing past will start by 7 am on Saturday 14th May 2022 at Denu Chicago School Park and the burial service begins by exactly 9 am, after which she will be committed to earth at the Denu Public Cemetery”.
In attendance were the MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Volta Regional Chairman, Henry Ametepe, former MP for Ketu South Albert Zigah, Ketu South Constituency Chairman, Solomon Kumordzie, Secretary, Desmond Kwaku Tsewu, Communications Officer, Bright Dzila, Organizer, Ferguson Ahorlu, among others.
The delegation was also at the National Headquarters of the NDC to equally inform the National Officers of the Party.
