The Epicentre, an educational and rehabilitation center located in New Gbawe, a western suburb of Accra, has received a generous donation from Mr. Samuel Tiwonitaaba Kuteba, CEO of Tiwonisam Dogs World. The Epicentre specializes in providing special education and therapeutic services to children and young adults with developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, and cerebral palsy.
The center offers a range of therapies such as physical, music, occupational, and sports therapy. It also provides respite services, allowing children to stay on-site from Monday to Friday and return home over the weekend. This arrangement offers parents a much-needed break from daily caregiving while enabling children to spend weekends with their families, fostering a healthy balance.
“Nala saved me from loneliness during one of the most difficult periods of my life. She loved children and was a loyal partner until her passing from a tumor. Today, I donate in her memory, as a tribute to the compassion and comfort she embodied.”
Mr. Kuteba expressed his desire to support The Epicentre in fulfilling its mission of aiding children with developmental disabilities.
“It is crucial for society to uphold its responsibilities toward the less privileged. My passion is to see every child or person with a disability succeed and not be left behind,” he stated.
The donation is expected to enhance the center’s efforts in providing quality care and education for its students.
The Epicentre continues to serve as a beacon of hope for families navigating the challenges of developmental disabilities, with community support playing a vital role in its mission.
